Australia-China Cultural Precinct Exchange
Following success of the inaugural Asia-Pacific Triennial of Performing Arts (Asia TOPA), Arts Centre Melbourne has realised our distinctive capacity to provide venue and technical training programs supporting the growing needs of China’s performing arts sector – particularly harnessing our leadership in venue and cultural precinct management, technical production and cross-cultural collaboration.
As China’s wealthiest and most culturally sophisticated arts market, home to a number of
newly-constructed performing arts venues, Guangzhou has been identified as an immediate opportunity to facilitate deeper, high-quality cultural exchange with Australia.
Within the context of Asia TOPA and our strategic focus on Asia, Arts Centre Melbourne Executives will travel to China, strengthening foundations of engagement and informing our understanding of opportunities in the region.
Our vision is to establish professional skills exchange and training programs that create new areas of engagement; deepening connections between the Australian and Chinese cultural sectors ahead of the next Asia TOPA, 2020.
