FASIC's Australian Studies China Conference, known as FASIC6
The FASIC6 conference is being organised with Sichuan Normal University located in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. The theme of the conference is "Global Connections: Space, Place and Shared Destiny”. The conference will feature papers and panels on topics such as mobility, environmental stability, international relations, minority and gender studies and will explore the concept of shared destiny, particularly as it relates to Australia and China. Since Sichuan Normal University has a strong Tibetan studies focus, there will be a focus on indigenous studies in both countries.
FASIC expects representatives from most of the 39 Australian Studies Centres in China to attend. Australian participants will come from all States and Territories and representatives from all major Australian Universities.
