Grant Program:
Investigator Grants
Grant Activity:
Combating the rise of ultra-processed food consumption in Australia
Purpose:
One in every five deaths are linked to unhealthy diets.
A major issue with Australian diets is the high level of ultra-processed foods, which is driving excess intakes of sugar, salt and unhealthy fats. Despite this, there are currently no government policies in place that specifically target these foods.
This program of work aims to improve existing policies and deliver new regulation that can effectively reduce ultra-processed food consumption for healthier Australian diets.
