Purpose:
The Hotel Energy Uplift Program will go towards decreasing our energy consumption by the way of proposed window tinting on our west facing rooms and also by the replacement of our vanity lighting in all hotel rooms, to more energy efficient LED light fittings. By enhancing the window tinting, we are reducing the energy that is required to heat the rooms in the winter and cool the rooms in the summer. With the update of the LED lights, we are increasing our energy efficiency by 80% compared to the currently installed vanity lights. These LED lights also contain no toxic chemicals and offer a longer life span than tradition light fittings. This reduces the need to update the lights on a more than regular basis thus saving the hotel money.
