Grant Program:
Early Career Fellowships
Grant Activity:
Postprandial lipoprotein metabolism, cerebral capillaries and Alzheimer's disease risk
Purpose:

Brain protein deposits of amyloid-beta (A?) are a primary pathological feature in people with Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Increasing evidence suggests that the risk of developing AD is associated with abnormal metabolism of blood A?, however, this remains poorly understood. This study will use a newly developed transgenic amyloid mouse strain to mimic aberrant blood A? metabolism to explore and understand it's effects on blood vessels of the brain and cognitive function.
