Boosting Dementia Research Grants
Grant Activity:
Taking a whole of day approach to optimising activity to prevent dementia in people with type 2 diabetes
Purpose:

People with type 2 diabetes have an increased risk of developing dementia. Prolonged sitting, which mainly occurs in the workplace) is linked to the joint mechanisms of high blood glucose levels, insulin resistance and inflammation. This study uses a behaviour change intervention to determine if sitting less and moving more can reduce cognitive decline in middle aged and older office workers with type 2 diabetes.
