Grant Activity:
Mediterranean diet and exercise to reduce cognitive decline and dementia risks in independently living older Australians: the MedWalk randomised controlled trial
Purpose:

This project brings together leading Australian and international researchers to extend a successful, 6-month, combined Mediterranean Diet and exercise program to reduce rates of cognitive decline and other dementia risk factors. This 2-year trial, in independently-living older Australians, involves a simple Mediterranean style diet with daily walking. The research will also investigate the underlying factors responsible for reducing dementia risk and the cost effectiveness of the intervention.
