Grant Activity:
Assessment and modulation of cortical sensorimotor control for recovery after stroke
Purpose:
Our goal is to promote the recovery of motor function after stroke. We will create a computational model of the effects of stroke on the motor control system throughout rehabilitation. We will determine whether electrical stimulation can enhance the effect of movement-based therapy on recovery after stroke. We will also adjust our stimulation based on ongoing brain activity. We hypothesise that feedback mediated rehabilitation is a more robust mechanism to activate affected areas.
