Grant Activity:
Bridging the skills shortage in the Northern Inland – heavy machinery operators
Purpose:
The project will demonstrate the effectiveness of tailored, place–based approaches that help young job seekers become work–ready. We recognise that traditional strategies such as pay–for–placement and sector specific vocational qualifications are transactional paradigms that have run their course. Our unique value proposition is to bridge the gap between a young person with skills and what local employers are looking for. We will achieve this by delivering an integrated, place–based initiative, that provide young people with the necessary insights, understanding and entry–level skills to enter this evolving, broad–based labour market.
