Grant Activity:
Turning farm crops into renewable hydrogen source
Purpose:
MADE Energy is a new farm/community–based social enterprise. The focus of this project is to test the feasibility of a centralised farm 'Biohub' that produces high–purity renewable hydrogen (200kg/d) and ammonia from organic agricultural residues combined with multipurpose energy crops using an innovative combination of low–pressure dark fermentative (DF) two–stage anaerobic digestion process coupled with biogas upgrading that is cost–effective, scalable, replicable and efficient for farms or a cluster of farms.
This leading–edge science is being pioneered by Griffith University. BRII will enable us to undertake the first ever assessment of techno–economic and practical feasibility of the system.
