Grant Activity:
Preventing reperfusion injury in stroke with an acutely dosed NK1R antagonist prodrug
Purpose:
Stroke represents a major clinical and societal burden (on individuals and society) and is the primary cause of adult disability, second-most common cause of dementia, and third-leading cause of death. We will develop a novel and effective intravenous form of a compound known to act beneficially in these clinical settings. This form of administration will act quickly and more effectively with beneficial stroke victim outcomes.
