Purpose:
Building off regional networks developed over three years, SciVR returns to empower local science providers with a means to share exciting astronomy discoveries feeding directly into the app in real time ensuring no two experiences are ever the same! With the guidance of professional science communicators, A/Prof Alan Duffy and Dr Rebecca Allen, regional libraries and science centres transform into virtual exploriums through the immersive and accessible Virtual Reality (VR) smartphone app. With two live–streams, one adapted especially for younger audiences, social media Q&A, audiences can connect with the presenters personally and learn about the most explosive events in our Universe. Melbourne will host an in–person talk too!
