Grant Activity:
Measuring national productivity impacts of chronic ill health on patients and carers and the potential benefits of health and policy interventions.
Purpose:
We will design a new measure of the impact of chronic disease on capacity to work. We will develop a new economic model called, ProductiveLifeMOD, to assess lifetime health-related productivity impacts including on education, income, savings), poverty, welfare, taxation and GDP. The model will be an international first providing a powerful tool to comprehensively model the productivity costs of chronic ill health and simulate the productivity benefits of new treatments and policy options.
