This Grant is provided to YMCA Services Pty Ltd to deliver the project 'Stay Safe Online, Tell Someone.'
YMCA Services is an entity owned by the YMCA Australia and member YMCAs across Australia that provides shared support services to the 14 member YMCAs across Australia that run financially sustainable social enterprises based in local communities.
This project will primarily meet six objectives of the Online Safety Grants Program and support the ‘supporting innovation’ focus area.
The project will create and pilot a co-designed online education package, based on previously conducted research based on ‘nudge theory’, to empower children, young people, and community members to report unsafe online behaviours.
Using existing networks, a diverse group of young people will be recruited to assist with development of three separate education packages for children (8–12), young people (13–18) and families.
The packages will be freely available through an online learning platform and will be promoted nationally through existing communications channels.
