Purpose:
CTSCo's Surat Basin CCUS project aims to demonstrate the viability of carbon capture from a coal-fired power station and the effective permanent storage or use of the captured CO2. The project shall be the first step toward large-scale CCUS within a Surat Basin Hub, with emissions from multiple generators and other industrial sources being captured and safely stored.
The proposed project is an integrated CCUS project including the construction & operation of a 110,000 tpa post-combustion capture plant at the Millmerran Power Station, transport to and injection of the captured CO2 into a saline aquifer within CTSC's EPQ10 greenhouse gas tenement and/or use for CCUS/EOR at Bridgeport's Moonie oil field.
