Development of novel ablation technologies for the treatment of ventricular tachycardia
Purpose:
Rhythm disorders from the main pumping chambers of the heart (ventricular arrhythmias, VA) cause 1 in4 of all deaths from heart disease. VA can be treated effectively by finding and destroying the circuits within heart scar tissue that perpetuate VA (ablation). The study innovates new technology and minimally invasive approaches to reduce the risk of VA for patients with heart disease, prolonging longevity and improving quality of life.
