Clairview Beach and Stanage Bay Community Microgrid Feasibility Study
Purpose:
The townships of Clairview Beach and Stanage Bay, on the central Queensland coast, are at the fringe of the electricity grid. Located at the end of a long rural feeder and supplied by two different network voltages, they are representative of many rural communities which face a range of reliability, quality of supply and capacity issues, as well as exposure to extreme weather events such as cyclones, flooding and bush fires. Working collaboratively with the communities, the feasibility study will seek to understand the communities' energy needs and investigate viable microgrid solutions with learnings informing the creation of a microgrid technology roadmap to improve quality of supply and resilience to other fringe of grid communities.
