Purpose:
The aim of this project is to expand the installation and monitoring of western pygmy possums on the Fleurieu Peninsula on private and public bushland. The results of the project will also assist with refinement of the nest box placement to improve suitability and detection, and provide information on the ecology of the animals (e.g. population dynamics, habitat preferences in relation to fire management, genetic studies) which will assist in the management of the species.
