Making For All: reaching people with disabilities
Purpose:
All people in Australia should have the opportunity to engage with science. and technology. People with disabilities are often excluded from such activities as they are not designed to meet people's unique needs. We will provide the opportunity for young adults throughout Australia with physical and intellectual disabilities to engage with a range of science concepts through specially designed maker activities that are accessible to all. Building on the success of National Science Week 2019, we will research and develop a wider range of activities that will be delivered through workshops at Monash Clayton and Peninsula campuses, and through sending kits and training materials to a range of local and regional disability support organisations.
