Purpose:
This ad hoc grant activity is a partnership with Rugby Australia, Oceania Rugby, and Solomon Islands Rugby Union Federation to strenthen people-to-people links between Australia and the Pacific in the sports of rugby union, with a particular focus on Solomon Islands. The activity will support the expansion of Rugby Australia's successful Get into Rugby (GiR) and Get into Rugby PLUS (GiR PLUS) programs to Solomon Islands starting in early 2020. In addition, the funding will provide much needed rugby equipment for the GiR program in Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga, Samoa and Solomon Islands.
