Purpose:
The Grant is being provided as part of the Remediation of PFAS (per–and poly–fluoroalkyl substances) contaminated soil and groundwater ad hoc grants.
The objectives of the grant is to fund research to:
– develop new effective technologies that can be applied to remediate PFAS contaminated soil and groundwater; in particular, soil and groundwater contaminated with perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS), perfluorooctanic acid (PFOA), perfluorohexane sulfonate (PFHxS) and precursors.
– demonstrate the potential for the developed technologies to be practically deployed in the field to treat large volumes of contaminated environmental media.
