Purpose:
Construction Squad is a work readiness program for young people wanting to work in the landscaping and construction industry. Over a 4 month period, Construction Squad will engage 15 young people aged 18 to 25 years in a practical learning experience to develop the first elements of a sensory garden at the Station in Murray Bridge. The project will simulate a real world landscaping and construction site where participants undertake training, complete allocated tasks and work as a team with people from diverse backgrounds. Skills developed are transferable into jobs such as: Trades Assistant, Labourer and Construction worker with further pathways in to traineeships/apprenticeships into landscaping, construction and/or civil construction.
