Purpose:
The Post–Release Pathways Program (PRP Program) aims to improve employment and social support for 15 ex–prisoners and develop pathways, and job opportunities for recently released prisoners in the Gippsland community. This includes those on bail, parole, community corrections orders and time served offenders. Dependent on the initial registration numbers, there is an option to include long term welfare recipients with criminal records for the project.
The project is designed to provide individual and comprehensive case management for ex–prisoners seeking employment, including basic employability skills training, skills assessments, referral to further education and training, labour market advice and job search support, matched with the linkages to supportive employers that the Gippsland Trades and Labour Council (GTLC) has relationships with.
