Community Engagement: Recovery of LargeGlider Species & Platypus in SE Qld
Purpose:
The Glider project will provide communities/landholders in bushfire affected areas SEQ with knowledge, skills, resources and information to implement recovery actions for fire-affected greater gliders (Petauroides Volans southern and central) and yellow-bellied glider (Petaurus australis) populations in SEQ. The project will be delivered via a series of attendance based community workshops and/or field days to promote community engagement and education. Through these, Wildlife Queensland can promote the conservation requirements of the target species.
The platypus project will use eDNA to determine the impacts of the 2019-2020 bushfires on platypus populations in fire-affected areas of South East Queensland (SEQ).
