Grant Activity:
Australia-Indonesia Sustainable Futures: building capacity towards climate resilient development pathways
Purpose:

This project aims to build capacity of emerging leaders in Indonesia and Australia to consider, articulate and problem-solve the dual challenges of sustainable development and climate change within local communities. Building on the successful Australia-Indonesia collaborative partnership for sustainable development and climate change, this project will design, develop and disseminate an online professional development resource in Indonesian and English for emerging leaders in government, business, academia and community. It will provide foundational knowledge to build awareness, encourage dialogue, and improve policy and decision-making capacities on a range of important and interconnected themes including climate change impacts on public health, sustainable landscape management, adaptation measures and low-carbon transitions. Resources will be particularly relevant to decision makers responsible for and participants living in small island and rural communities. They will encourage collaborative leadership approaches to managing the impacts of climate change while building community resilience and advancing development outcomes within local contexts.
