Grant Activity:
Application of advanced manufacturing technologies to offload diabetes-related foot ulceration
Purpose:
People with diabetes can develop wounds on their feet due to high pressures. These wounds cause significant health and personal impacts for those affected and present a high cost to the health system. Current treatments are not always provided and are often not used by patients. This project explores how 3D scanning, computer aided design, and 3D printing could be used to make a more affordable, accessible and personalised treatment that clinicians are more likely to provide and patients use.
