Purpose:
Without drastic action, antimicrobial resistance is projected to kill 10 million people by 2050. To address this, Wintermute Biomedical has developed a next-generation antibiotic ? GS-1. GS-1 has activity against all classes of drug-resistant bacteria, has no known side effects, and exhibits a unique resistance profile. Wintermute and its Australian partners will conduct further characterisation and testing of GS-1, bringing it to a point of readiness for clinical trials in Australia.
