Purpose:
This project is aimed at saving energy and reducing energy bills for our client group and includes eligible expenditure as defined in section 5.1.2–4 and 5.2 of the grant guidelines.
The project scope/key activities are to replace two very old split system air conditioners, and replace all older lighting in three residential units and outdoor areas with modern efficient LED lighting.
The Independent Living Program provides supported tenancy for clients who have graduated from DASAs rehabilitation program at Aranda House. This program also accepts community and prison referrals who can demonstrate significant progress in their recovery.
Transitional housing and case management support provides a stable base from which clients can continue to re–build a life without substance misuse while engaging in paid or volunteer work, study or care for children.
ILP was established around 2011 with Australian Government funding from the Office for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, under a Council of Australian Governments measure to enhance transitional care options for Aboriginal people across the NT. It has received operational funding from the Australian Government since this date (via OATSIH, Department of Health, Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, and now NIAA).
