Purpose:
This project will replace and upgrade the existing perimeter fences and access gates at five aerodromes servicing very remote Aboriginal communities across the Tennant Creek and Alice Springs regions. That is, Canteen Creek Aerodrome, Mount Liebig Aerodrome, Alcoota (Engawala) Aerodrome, Santa Teresa Aerodrome and Hermannsburg Aerodrome. The upgraded heavy-duty camel fences will increase the safety levels for infrastructure, aircraft and personnel as well as restrict illegal access to the aerodromes. This project will enhance safety and access for all users especially for delivery of essential services including aero-medical services.
