Purpose:
This project will replace and upgrade wind indicators and signal circles on 15 aerodromes servicing remote and very remote Aboriginal communities across the Northern Territory. Aerodromes include Batchelor, Bulman (Delara), Belyuen, Croker Island, Maningrida, Milingimbi, Oenpelli, Bickerton, Hooker Creek, Borroloola Aerodrome, Hodgson Downs, Yarralin, Robinson River, Kalkarindji and Ngukurr. The project will improve the safety of the aerodromes for pilots and passengers, prolong the serviceability of the aerodromes and reduce the risk of damage to aircraft enabling the aerodromes to continue to provide the community with aero-medical and other essential services.
