Purpose:
This project will prepare the airstrip surface, apply line marking to all areas including aprons, replace existing analogue lighting with power saving efficient LED lighting, install an automated weather information station linked to the Bureau of Meteorology which can be activated by pilots, replace gable markers, and install electronically activated security gates at Doomadgee Airstrip. The project will enhance safety and access for all users including for the provision of the Royal Flying Doctor Service and other essential aero-medical services.
