Grant Activity:
Bridging the Digital Divide: Building Health Self-Efficacy through Communication-Accessible Online Environments
Purpose:
Many essential health and support services are now primarily accessible through the internet. While this increases access for many, it can be a barrier for people with disability. Language skills (reading, writing, understanding) are essential for internet use. This is a problem for stroke survivors who have aphasia (impaired language/communication). We will develop technology, training and guidelines that make the internet accessible to people with communication disability.
