Purpose:
Preparing Parents for Work (Retail and Hospitality) project will deliver real life work experience and work skills for 10 unemployed job seekers for the Retail and Hospitality industries. The 26–week program will empower participants with the skills to enter employment in the Hospitality and/or Retail industry. Participants will be provided direct work experience in both industry sectors of Retail and Hospitality from the Angels Community Group's Second 2 none retail store, Angels Mini Mart and the professional kitchen /catering facilities to expand their overall skill set, interpersonal and professional development. Those Job seekers developing an interest or showing employability skills in one area will be encouraged to specialise in that area, focussing their specific interest and skills for future employment where the Angels Community Group and the ARA (Australian Retail Association) will work on their advocacy to potential employers within the region. The job seekers will then be offered the opportunity to participate in accredited training by undertaking a Certificate 3 in Retail or Hospitality.
