Support for bushfire affected Landcare groups – Eurobodalla
Purpose:
80% of the land across the Eurobodalla Shire was burnt during the Black Summer bushfires with a loss of over 271,000 hectares. The devastating loss to local bushland was felt by the entire community & has inspired the formation of new volunteer run Landcare groups as well as inspiring existing groups within bushfire affected areas to rally together for restoration. This project will support new groups, Nelligen Landcare & Tuross Valley Rivercare, and existing groups Deua Rivercare and McKenzies Beach Landcare, to conduct much needed restoration across over 2000 hectares of highly altered landscapes through weed control as well as providing assistance with revegetation, erection of nest boxes & erosion control.
