Purpose:
The purpose of the grant is to provide a maximum of thirty-four (34) Year 11 and 12 students from Marist Regional College and Burnie High Schools in North West, Tasmania with skills and connections to Vocational Education and Training (VET) pathways through the delivery of accredited units of competency and non-accredited modules in the customised Elphinstone Simulated Work Environment (SWE), a mini automated production line, located within the Tasmanian Manufacturing Centre of Excellence. This grant will directly support students to gain skills in a Vocational Education and Training (VET) pathway aligned to the advanced manufacturing industry sector, supporting the skills shortages in North West and West Tasmania.
