The Grant is being provided under the International Airports Security Costs Rebate program.
The objective of the International Airport Security Costs Rebate program to assist eligible international airports:
1) receiving international passenger services within the Grant Period to continue to meet mandated security obligations that must be met regardless of the reduced volume of aviation activity during the COVID-19 pandemic, and
2) to maintain the capability to facilitate international passenger services.
The purpose of the Grant is to provide a contribution towards the shortfall in costs incurred by the Grantee associated with meeting government mandated security obligations and related security activities for the duration of the Grant Period. Mandated security obligations include those under the Aviation Transport Security Regulations 2005 (Regulations), and those required by any other Australian Government entity.
