Purpose:
This project is to install 6.6kw solar panels on the Comet Community Hall. This facility is also Comets Emergency relief location point used mostly in time of flooding. The cost of installation is quoted at $8018 with a 12.8% return on the investment, with the aim of saving energy and reducing the energy bills for the Comet School of Arts Inc. The Comet Community Hall is the hub of the Comet Community. The Comet Hall is used for meetings, community events, church, dance concerts, playgroup and school functions. This facility has the only public wheelchair access bathroom and shower facilities in the township of Comet and also supplies the power to fill the town water supply tank positioned in the hall grounds. This funding would greatly improve cost–efficient and sustainability for this small community.
