Japan Studies Seminar Series
This project entails the delivery of an online Japan Studies seminar series. It will be hosted by the ANU Japan Institute and will showcase cutting-edge research by leading and emerging scholars in Japan and Australia. The series will be convened in 10-week blocks (with one seminar per week), in both semester 1 and 2, over three years (2021-2023). The speaker line-up will be confirmed prior to the commencement of each of the 10-week seminar blocks, and will be publicised as a complete series. The three-year series as a whole will feature an array of research on Japan and also developments in the Australia-Japan relationship, including advancements in defence and space cooperation. The seminars will be convened and recorded on Zoom and subsequently edited and uploaded to YouTube for public viewing. The project will culminate in the publication of an edited volume on the theme "New Frontiers in the Australia-Japan relationship."
