Exploiting CDK4/6 inhibition to treat medulloblastoma
Purpose:
Medulloblastoma is the most frequent malignant brain tumour in children and is associated with a very poor survival. The investigators have identified a very promising new drug and this research will test this new drug in mice carrying human tumours, in combination with standard chemotherapy and radiotherapy. If successful this will improve survival but also in the longer term may also be able to reduce the dose of toxic chemo- and radio-therapy and therefore significantly improve quality of life for survivors.
