Purpose:
The current principal refrigeration unit at Newport Bowls Club is a freestanding 10ft x 10ft cool room that was constructed in 1970. Whilst operational, it is inefficient and long past its end of life.
Over the years elements of the refrigeration system have been decommissioned and/or replaced by standalone fridges. A recent Energy Audit has identified that refurbishment would save an estimated 3,572.14 kWh per annum.
Mechanical Air Conditioning Technologies (MACT) have been engaged to quote and complete this work given their expertise in this area. Initial enquiries as to only replacing the Condenser and Evaporator equipment were deemed as inappropriate given the degraded insulation factor of the cool room wall panels.
MACT are a trusted company that has previously completed maintenance and consulted for the club http://www.mact.com.au/
The cool room will be replaced in its current location. This is considered the most appropriate option as the area is easily accessible, does not require any structural modification and will reduce additional plumbing and electrical costs that would otherwise be incurred.
Club volunteers will complete the necessary clearing and removal of storeroom items prior to work commencing and MACTs quote provides for all aspects of work including demolition/removal of the existing cool room and equipment.
It is estimated that the program of works should not take more than 4 weeks to complete, however up to 8 weeks have been considered to allow for any unexpected delays.
