Australia-Japan Foundation
Grant Activity:
Japanese and Australian perspectives on robots in public space
Purpose:

This project develops the potential of robotics to facilitate stronger bilateral links. It does so by exploring and promoting joint Australian-Japanese experiences of robots in public space. Through public events for outreach in Tokyo and Melbourne, it highlights and enhances technological innovation, explores the cultural and social qualities of robots in both countries, develops new approaches in this important area of research, and engages broad public audiences. The outcomes will be improved public awareness of joint Australia-Japan partnerships in this rapidly emerging field, strengthened relationships to support scientific innovation and new opportunities for insight into social and cultural connections through this rapidly emerging technology.
