Ngurrara, Karajarri, Nyangumarta and Kanyirninpa Jukurrpa Rangers will be supported to conserve Night Parrots, Northern Quolls, Black-flanked Rock-wallabies and Northern Brushtail Possums in the Great Sandy Desert. Targeted ecological surveys will document known populations ecology, threats and management, from which extensive management will decrease the impact of wildfires, cats and foxes. Broad habitat mapping and ecological surveys will then survey suitable habitat for new populations. Lastly, knowledge exchange will build capacity in rangers and scientists, whilst increasing the wider communities understanding of these species, their associated cultural importance and the importance of aboriginal land management.
