Koala habitat restoration in Border Ranges and Guula Ngurra National Park
Purpose:
The focus of this project will be on koala habitat restoration in two areas identified as priority koala habitat restoration areas. The locations are the Border Ranges reserves on the north coast and Guula Ngurra National Park in the Greater Blue Mountains. The Border Ranges project will focus weed control on lands infested with lantana and the resulting Bell Minor Associated Dieback (BMAD). The Guula Ngurra project will focus on blackberry control and habitat restoration along the culturally sensitive Wingecarribee River corridor. Both projects are in Indigenous Land Use Agreement Areas (ILUAs), and NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service will partner with the Gundungurra and Githabul to complete the projects.
