Purpose:

VMI 2.0 is a significant development of extant work creating a digital touring exhibition developed in collaboration with TMAG, Australian Antarctic Division and national scientific and museum organisations. A preview of VMI is available here: https://www.petermorse.com.au/visions-of-australia-vmi/ password: macca2021 VMI presents a photorealistic 3D simulation of sub-Antarctic Macquarie Island based upon accurate scientific data. It is suitable for a large screen display, with components for VR and mobile AR presentation formats. A guided tour is presented by digital avatars of AAD scientists. The experience is accompanied by VR/AR digital artefacts presented on mobile devices, accompanied by print and online educational packages.
