Grant Activity:
A new way to see endometriosis
Purpose:
Endometriosis, a chronic and painful condition, affects ~10% women of reproductive age, and is characterized by growth of uterine-like cells outside the uterus such as the pelvis. However, why cells of the uterus end up in other parts of the body, and how they cause pain and other symptoms, are not well understood. This project will address these questions by studying the fundamental biology and function of uterine cells and exploring new diagnostic and therapeutic options for endometriosis.
