Purpose:
Improving the efficiency of the biggest energy user (Silo heaters) and decreasing drying production time is the focus of the project.
Engineering a feasibility study by extracting data from the system controller, we aim to find the most energy efficient way to dry Macadamia nuts.
This study will investigate different drying processes with the focus on a dehumidifier to decrease production time frames and reduce element run time, thereby increasing energy efficiency of the entire drying process. By installing energy monitoring and communication to silo PLC (system controller) and combining the engineering feasibility study, we aim to find the most energy efficient way to dry Macadamia nuts.
