Grant Activity:
Lawari Conservation Park revegetation and weed control
Purpose:
Wyndgate Farm was purchased by government in 2001. In 2017 it was gazetted as Lawari Conservation Park. Between 2001 and 2017 the Hindmarsh Island Landcare Group (HILG) has revegetated parts of the 1,000 hectare property. This project will enable the revegetation of Lawari Conservation Park to continue as there has been little resourcing by government since 2017 to support the transition from mixed farm to conservation park. This project will plant 30,000 plants of approximately 40 local species on several key sites over the 2 years, 2021/22 and 2022/23. Appropriate weed management will be undertaken concurrently with the revegetation.
