Purpose:
This project aims to support ecosystem recovery of burnt sites & improve the resilience of unburnt refugia sites on private land in East Gippsland's fire impacted landscape. Key activities will be weed & feral animal control, revegetation and browsing control over 2,200 ha. 400 ha will be protected through conservation covenants or ten–year agreements.
Trust for Nature’s covenantors and other landholders will benefit from managing their property through direct support with on–ground activities and financial incentives. Engaging landholders in the recovery process has been shown to assist in social recovery and enhance well–being.
