Multi-analyte liquid biopsy-based biomarkers for oropharyngeal cancer
Purpose:
Throat cancer affects individuals at a relatively young age, who often go on to suffer from long-term treatment related morbidities. In addition, 20% of throat cancers reoccur. There is a desire to reduce the intensity of treatment to lessen severe side effects as well as to monitor response to treatment . We propose to use non-invasive, novel biomarkers to address these unmet clinical needs, thereby improving quality of life for cancer patients and significantly cutting healthcare costs.
