Girls in Cyber Security Advancing (GiCSA ) Program
Purpose:
The Charles Sturt University will run a program, 'Gils in Cyber Security Advancing (GiCSA) Program', in regional NSW. The project will address the need to involve women in the cyber security professions by focusing on education of girls in high school. Year 9–10 girls in 36 high schools will attend a series of cyber security training and awareness workshops, a cyber security challenge, followed by a leadership and entrepreneurship workshop. The aim is to influence students in high school prior to deciding on Year 11 and 12 subjects and future careers. This program will be run in regional areas such as Wagga Wagga, Albury, Bathurst, Dubbo, Orange and Port Macquarie.
